How to Cancel Hosting.com and Get a Refund (30-Day Guarantee)
How to submit a cancellation request in the Hosting.com Hosting Panel, how the 30-day money-back guarantee works, and what happens to your data and domain.
- hosting
- cancellation
You cancel Hosting.com (formerly A2 Hosting) with a cancellation request in the Hosting Panel. Cancelling stops renewals; a refund only applies inside the 30-day money-back window, and you ask for it separately with a billing ticket.
Refund rules
- Window: 30 days from your initial purchase. It does not extend to renewals.
- Covered: Web hosting, Enhance servers, and email products including Professional Email.
- Not covered: Unmanaged VPS, managed cPanel servers, domains, and third-party licences.
- After 30 days: No refunds for unused time and no proration.
- Early renewal charge: Renewals are charged up to 3 days before the renewal date. If you cancel before the renewal date but were already charged, Hosting.com can refund that renewal through a billing ticket.
- How to ask: Refunds are handled by the billing team on a ticket, not on chat.
Back up first
Download your website files, databases, and email before the final date. Once the account is terminated the data is gone for good.
How to cancel
- Log in to the Hosting Panel at my.hosting.com.
- Under Products & Services, find the service and click Manage.
- Click Billing in the left sidebar.
- Scroll to Renewal & Subscription Settings and click Cancellation request.
- Choose when it takes effect, add a reason if you like, and click Request cancellation.
On a phone, tap the menu icon at the top left to open the sidebar.
End of billing cycle or Immediate?
- End of billing cycle: The service stays fully active until the paid period ends. After that it is suspended for 14 days with your data kept, then terminated and deleted. This is the safer choice.
- Immediate: The service is shut down and the data removed straight away. Only pick this if you already have backups.
Changed your mind? Before the cancellation takes effect, select the service under Products & Services and click Cancel Cancellation Request. During the 14-day suspension, open a ticket to have the account reactivated.
What cancelling does not do
- Domains keep renewing. A domain is a separate product. Cancel or transfer it separately.
- DNS on Hosting.com nameservers goes with the hosting. If your domain uses Hosting.com's nameservers, the website and email records go with the hosting account. Point the domain elsewhere first.
Moving to another host?
Migrate the site, check that email and forms work, then cancel. Compare five-year costs on the Hosting.com renewal price page, or see Hosting.com against SiteGround and Hostinger.
