How to Cancel Hostinger and Get a Refund (30-Day Guarantee)

How to cancel a Hostinger plan with a refund inside the 30-day window, or stop auto-renewal after it, plus what is excluded and what happens to your data.

There are two ways to cancel Hostinger. Inside the 30-day money-back window you request a refund, which ends the service immediately. After that, you turn off auto-renewal and the plan runs until its expiry date.

Back up first

A refund deletes the service and its data right away, and an expired plan is deleted automatically. Download your website files, databases, and email before you cancel. Hostinger's dashboard has no undo for either path.

Cancelling a hosting plan also ends any free email trial that came with it. To keep that mailbox, upgrade to a Business Mail plan first.

Option 1: Cancel with a refund (within 30 days)

Hostinger's 30-day money-back guarantee covers new purchases and renewals of web, cloud, Agency, KVM VPS, and Game Panel hosting, plus Hostinger Email. To request it:

  1. Open the Paid invoices page in the Hostinger dashboard.
  2. Find the service and click Refund.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to submit the request.

If the service is missing from the list or has no Refund button, it is not eligible.

What is not refundable

  • Domain renewals, completed domain transfers, and domain privacy protection
  • The first payment after a free hosting trial
  • Purchases made with cryptocurrency
  • Paid add-ons such as Cloud Boost and AI credits
  • Services suspended or terminated for Terms of Service violations

If your plan came with a free domain, Hostinger may deduct the domain's standard price from the refund. You keep the domain for the rest of its registration period.

Option 2: Stop auto-renewal (after 30 days)

  1. Go to Billing → Subscriptions in the Hostinger dashboard.
  2. Find the plan you want to stop.
  3. Click the toggle next to it to turn off auto-renewal.

The plan stays active until its expiry date, then Hostinger cancels and deletes it. This is the right option if you prepaid a long term and want to use the time you paid for.

Things to know before you cancel

  • Cancelling affects only the subscription you select. Domains and email plans have their own subscriptions.
  • You cannot delete your Hostinger account while it still has active services.
  • Contact support before filing a chargeback with your card issuer.

Moving somewhere else?

If price is the reason you are leaving, compare what you would pay over five years on the Hostinger renewal price page, or see how it stacks up against Bluehost, SiteGround, and DreamHost. Migrate your site to the new host before the old plan ends.
