How to Cancel InMotion Hosting and Get a Refund (90-Day Guarantee)
How to cancel an InMotion Hosting plan or turn off auto-renew in AMP, how the 90-day, 30-day, and 7-day refund windows work, and what is not refundable.
- inmotion-hosting
- cancellation
InMotion lets you cancel from its Account Management Panel (AMP). Cancelling sets the plan to expire at the end of the term; for a refund or an immediate cancellation, you contact Customer Service.
Refund windows
- 90 days: Shared Hosting and Hosting for WordPress plans, plus VPS, UltraStack One, and Reseller plans on 6-month or longer terms.
- 30 days: Month-to-month VPS, UltraStack One, Reseller, and Dedicated Server plans, before the first renewal.
- 7 days: Minecraft hosting.
Add-ons, domain fees, domain privacy, and professional services are not refundable. If your plan came with a free domain and you cancel within the guarantee period, InMotion deducts the standard domain registration fee from the refund.
To get a refund
Contact InMotion Customer Service within your guarantee period and ask to cancel with a refund. Chat and tickets are available 24/7; phone support for billing runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 9 PM ET, at +1-757-416-6575. You can also email [email protected].
Option 1: Turn off auto-renew
- Log in to AMP at secure1.inmotionhosting.com/amp.
- Click Billing to open My Subscriptions.
- Find the plan's row and switch the Auto-Renew toggle off.
The plan keeps running until the end of the term and is not billed again.
Option 2: Cancel the plan in AMP
- In AMP, click Billing to open My Subscriptions.
- Click the red X in the Cancel column of the plan's row.
- Read the Are You Sure You Want to Cancel Your Plan? dialog and click Cancel Plan.
- Complete the short survey and click Submit. The row then shows Set to Expire.
Some products, such as VPS plans, show Contact Us in the Cancel column instead; Customer Service cancels those.
What happens next
The plan stays active until the paid term ends. Then you lose access and the content is deleted from InMotion's systems, so download files, email, and databases first. Want to keep the plan after all? Ask Customer Service to reverse the cancellation before it takes effect.
Moving to another host?
Copy your site and switch DNS before the plan expires. Compare five-year costs on the InMotion renewal price page, or see InMotion against Bluehost and SiteGround.
