InterServer's refund policy is short and strict: web hosting is fully refundable for 30 days after sign-up, and not at all after that. You can still cancel any time to stop future charges.

The refund rules

According to InterServer's Terms of Service:

  • Refunds apply only to web hosting accounts: the Standard, Windows, Boost, and WordPress packages.
  • You can request a refund within 30 days of signing up and get back the full amount you paid.
  • After 30 days you can still cancel, but you forfeit the money already paid.
  • VPS, dedicated servers, colocation, licensing, and IP transit are not refundable once service has started.
  • Accounts terminated for violating the terms can be closed without a refund.

How to cancel

The terms say you can cancel an account and be removed from billing, which stops all future charges. Cancel from InterServer's customer portal, or contact support through its 24/7 phone, live chat, or ticket system. If you are within 30 days of sign-up, ask for the refund at the same time.

InterServer does not publish a step-by-step cancellation guide on its site, so if you cannot find the option in your portal, open a ticket and support will handle it.

Before you cancel

  • Download your website files, databases, and email.
  • If you are moving to another host, migrate the site and switch DNS first.
  • A domain registered through InterServer is a separate product; decide whether to keep or transfer it.

Leaving because of price?

Renewal is $7 a month. Compare five-year costs on the InterServer renewal price page, or see InterServer against Hostinger.
