You cancel SiteGround hosting from the Client Area, and you choose whether it ends now or at expiration. Refunds depend on timing: shared hosting is refundable for 30 days after activation, and renewals have their own 30-day window.

Back up first

If you cancel immediately, SiteGround removes the websites and all their data right away. Download your files and databases before you confirm. If you cancel at expiration, the site keeps running until the end of the term you paid for.

How SiteGround refunds work

  • New shared hosting orders: Covered for 30 days from the day the service is activated.
  • New cloud hosting orders: Covered for 14 days from activation.
  • Renewals: A full refund if you cancel within 30 days of the renewal payment and before the renewal term starts. If the renewal term has already started, you get a partial refund minus the first month of the new term.
  • Not refundable: Domain name fees, paid support, and third-party services. Domain fees may be charged on cancellation even if they were waived as part of a promotion.

Step-by-step: cancel your hosting plan

  1. Log in to the Client Area and go to Services → Hosting.
  2. Click Settings next to the plan you want to cancel.
  3. Open the kebab menu on the right and select Cancel.
  4. Choose to cancel at expiration or immediately.
  5. Click Continue and follow the remaining on-screen steps.

Choose immediately if you want a refund inside the refund window. Choose at expiration if you are past it and want to use the time you have paid for.

What happens to your domain

Cancelling hosting does not cancel your domain. The domain and its related services stay active in your account until they expire, so cancel or transfer them separately if you are leaving SiteGround completely.

Only unhappy with the price?

SiteGround suggests downgrading to a cheaper plan before cancelling. If you are leaving because of the renewal price, compare five-year costs on the SiteGround renewal price page, or see SiteGround against Hostinger, ChemiCloud, and DreamHost. Move your site to the new host before you cancel.
