Flywheel's onboarding team will move a WordPress site to Flywheel for free within 3 business days. You fill out a migration form, give the team WP-Admin access, and review the site before you take it live.

Know the timelines

  • Standard (free): Done within 3 business days.
  • Expedited ($49): Done within 8 business hours.

Timelines run on US Central Time. The migration team does not work weekends or after 5pm Central on weekdays, so for anything more urgent, Flywheel points you to its self-migration guide.

Step 1: Open the migration form

Log in and go to app.getflywheel.com/migration. The link is also just above the footer of your Flywheel dashboard. Choose Move my site for me.

Step 2: Pick a timeline and destination

Choose standard or expedited. Then pick where the site goes: an existing Flywheel site (it will be overwritten), an existing subscription, or a new demo site in the data center you choose. Organization members also pick who will own the site.

Step 3: Describe your current site

Enter the site URL, whether it is a multisite network, and any important root directories. If the site is local or not reachable online, upload a full backup with the request instead.

Multisite networks move only as a whole. Pulling one subsite out of a network is outside what Flywheel's migration service covers.

Step 4: Give WP-Admin access

Enter your login page (usually /wp-admin) and an admin-level username and password. Hosting credentials are optional, but help if the site is unstable or a migration plugin fails. Add any notes in the additional instructions box, then submit.

Step 5: Review and go live

Flywheel emails you when the migration is done. Check the site thoroughly, tell the team about anything that needs attention, then follow Flywheel's go-live guide to point your domain.
