Bluehost's checkout is short, but two choices on it change what you pay: the billing term and the add-ons in your cart. This guide walks through each screen in order.

Before you start: pick a plan and a term

Bluehost's WordPress-ready shared hosting has three tiers. As of October 2026, our plan data shows:

PlanIntro price (36 months)Renewal priceWebsitesStorage
Starter$3.99/mo$9.99/mo1010 GB
Business$6.99/mo$13.99/mo5050 GB
eCommerce Essentials$14.99/mo$21.99/mo100100 GB

The intro rate applies to the 36-month term. A 12-month term costs more per month: $59.88 for the year on Starter. Bluehost's 30-day money-back guarantee does not cover monthly-term plans. See the Bluehost renewal price page for the five-year cost of each plan.

Step 1: Choose a plan

  1. On bluehost.com, open the Hosting tab and select Web Hosting.
  2. Pick a plan. Bluehost suggests Starter or Business for most new sites.

Step 2: Choose a domain

You can register a new domain, use one you already own, or choose one later. Shared plans include a free domain for the first year. Bluehost also offers Domain Privacy + Protection at this step; it is optional and costs extra.

Step 3: Create your account

Sign up with an email address and password, or link a Google, Apple, or GitHub account.

Step 4: Review add-ons

Bluehost recommends add-ons such as CodeGuard, eCommerce, and Yoast. All are optional. Add only what you need, because fees for additional services are not covered by Bluehost's 30-day money-back guarantee.

Step 5: Enter billing details and pick a term

  1. Fill in the Billing Information section. Bluehost accepts credit and debit cards, Google Pay, and PayPal.
  2. Choose your billing term from the dropdown. Longer terms lower the monthly price, and the full term is charged today.

Step 6: Choose a data center

Pick the location closest to most of your visitors. Bluehost lists data centers in North America, South America, Europe, India, and Australia, including Virginia, Arizona, Toronto, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Mumbai, Sydney, and Sao Paulo.

Step 7: Review the cart and pay

Check the Shopping Cart summary: plan, term, data center, and any add-ons. When it looks right, click Submit Payment. Bluehost sends an order confirmation email, and you can log in to the Bluehost portal to set up WordPress.

What to check after you sign up

  • Auto-renewal: Products renew automatically by default. You can turn it off in the Renewal Center.
  • Refund window: Hosting fees are refundable within 30 days of purchase for new signups. Our Bluehost cancellation guide explains the rules.
  • Moving an existing site? Use Bluehost's free self-service tool, covered in our Bluehost migration guide.

Still deciding? Compare Bluehost with Hostinger, SiteGround, or DreamHost, or see every plan on the Bluehost price table.
