WP Engine sells managed WordPress hosting through its Essential plans, sized by how many sites you run. The decisions before checkout are the site count and annual versus monthly billing.
Before you start: pick a size
As of October 2026, our plan data for WP Engine shows:
| Plan | First annual term | Renewal | Sites | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential 1 Site | $28/mo | $35/mo | 1 | 10 GB |
| Essential 3 Sites | $52/mo | $65/mo | 3 | 15 GB |
| Essential 10 Sites | $104/mo | $130/mo | 10 | 20 GB |
| Essential 30 Sites | $264/mo | $330/mo | 30 | 50 GB |
The lower first-year price is a discount on the first annual term; renewals are at the regular rate. The WP Engine renewal price page shows the five-year cost.
Step 1: Choose a plan and billing period
Open WP Engine's plans page, pick the Essential tier that covers your number of sites, and choose annual or monthly billing.
Step 2: Create your account and pay
Complete the checkout with your account and payment details. The person who signs up becomes the account Owner; only Owner-level users can later cancel the plan.
Step 3: Set up your first site
Log in to the WP Engine User Portal and open Sites to create your WordPress environment. To bring over an existing site, use WP Engine's Site Migration plugin, covered in our WP Engine migration guide.
Step 4: Add your domain
When the site is ready, add your domain in the User Portal and point DNS to WP Engine. SSL and CDN are added automatically when DNS points to WP Engine's advanced network or Global Edge Security.
What to check after you sign up
- Cancellation notice: WP Engine requires 30 days' notice through its cancellation form. Our WP Engine cancellation guide explains the process.
- Renewal price: Budget for the regular rate after the first annual term.
